Brief History

 

The effort to establish a Barrio High School was initiated by Mr. Eugenio M. Nobleza, as Elementary School Principal and later became the principal of Tupi barangay High School at the same time the District Supervisor of Tupi North District. He conducted a survey to determine the need to put up a high school in Tupi. To support their crusade of putting up a High School, a signature campaign was conducted & Mrs. Patricinio Manguhig was assigned to seek the signature of the parents. from the survey, a unanimous result coming from the parents came out, on the used of putting up a high school in Tupi for the reason that most of them could not afford to send their children in a private high school. After all the requirements completed and complied, it was submitted to the then ministry of Education Culture and sports. From them on, Tupi Barrio High School was formally opened in 1966.

When Tupi Barrio School was opened in 1996 Mrs. Letecia Espanol and Ms. Clarita Salanga were the first teacher with 89 students enrolled in first teacher. A year after, second year was opened with Mrs. Simeona Trinidad as the teacher while Mrs. Espanol and Mrs. Socorro Culling took charge of the first year. On the third year of operation, school 1968-1969 Mrs. Erlinda J. Sales came in and was assigned as third year teacher. On its fourth year of operation, school year 1969-1970 fourth year class was handed by Mr. David C. Gallardo, Mr. Eduardo Pajunan and Mr. Cedeno as the principal. On that same year, Tupi Barrio High School was able to produce a graduate of 39 students with Mrs. Anita T. Selidio-Jarbadan as the class valedictorian and now a member of Tupi National High School Faculty. In 1984, Mr. David C. Gallardo was assigned as the school head and later promoted as Principal until December 2004 and now a Division Education on supervisor in Filipino. In 1980, Tupi Barangay High School- Cebuano Annex in Barangay Cebuano was opened with Mr. Remustenes Mabalot, as the first School Head followed by Mrs. Lorna Bernal and Mrs. Gloria Palmes. In year 2000 Mr. Simplicio T. Balleza , Jr. was the officer in charge until Dec. 2004, now principal of Tupi National High School Main.

The first principal was the late Eugenio Nobleza and in 1969, David C. Gallardo took over & recently, last December 2004, he was promoted as the Division Education Supervisor in Filipino.

Tupi National High School has nationally paid teachers and 15 non teaching personnel with a total of 95 strong and competent faculty and administrative staff.
